CATALOG DESIGN: Greenway Resource
There are many different types of catalogs. While they all show off a company’s product line, they can do so in different ways. Some catalogs show off best sellers, others might only show you a truncated version of a company’s entire collection, and others show every single product available to you.
Keith, the president of Greenway Resource came to me needing a catalog. To take a step back, Greenway Resource is the Florida Team of Professionals Representing the Fine Factories in Lighting, Fans and Home Decor. They represent a number of manufacturers including Kaleen Rugs. Now, Kaleen Rugs has HUNDREDS of gorgeous rug styles. Like, literally hundreds - check out their site to see what I mean.
Keith from Greenway Resource at Kaleen Rugs
As a sales representative for Kaleen Rugs, Keith and his team bring the line to current and potential retail clients to see what is new and what they should add to their showrooms. He had the brilliant idea to create a teaser catalog showing the best of Kaleen’s outdoor rugs to send to all of the Patio Stores in Florida. This would save him time going from store to store and show more than he could probably comfortably carry around with him. And hopefully entice the reader to call Keith to find out more.
To start, we narrowed down Kaleen’s extensive collection focusing only on the best collections of outdoor rugs, adding QR codes with links inviting the reader to view more on Kaleen’s website. We also incorporated Keith's energetic personality into the book so when these potential clients think of Kaleen, they think to call Keith! Plus they will see he is someone that they can relate to and is fun to do business with.

All in all, I think we accomplished what he wanted to do and retailers in Florida are going to be receiving this number soon!
There is just something special about having a printed catalog in hand. The colors, the feel of the pages, the ability to right notes; the list goes on and on!
In this book, I designed the layouts of the spreads, and placed the copy.
