LOGO DESIGN: Peach Tree Gourmet
I feel really special when a client comes to me to work on their logo. They are entrusting me to take their passion and illustrate in into a symbol that will be the representation of their brand. This is a big deal, and something that I take personally and give my all to create the perfect design for each client.
Which brings me to this project for Peach Tree Gourmet. Peach Tree Gourmet is the sister company to Georgia Salsa (more on them here). They too feature jams, jellies and more made with love from the farms of Georgia. The logo needed to reflect the all natural aspect of the brand, while embodying a whimsical style that the owners wanted to portray.
Right off the bat I had some ideas. I started by sketching out imagery I thought might be a good fit for the design. A peach tree, peaches on a branch and a farm field were the main icons that were calling out to me.
Now that I had my ideas out on paper, I was able to illustrate these images in illustrator. Ultimately, these drawings transpired into 6 design ideas.
From these initial mock ups, design 3 and 4 were the ones that stood out the most to the client. They are clean, and offer a sense of gourmet branding that we were looking for. But neither were just right. So we tried marrying the 2 together.
While I was creating this new design, it was still just ok, not great. So I decided to take it all apart and try something new. I moved the tree to the left and stacked the text into rows.
This struck a chord with my client. They had the great idea of making the "P" one with the tree. We gave it a whirl and that is what you see before you here!
I really like how the finished product came into being. You aren't always going to get it right on the first go. And I love working with clients that can see the potential in a design and offer suggestions that take it exactly where they want it to be.
Be sure to check out PeachTreeGourmet.com to get some southern inspired jams and jellies and too see the logo I created out in the wild! All ingredients are locally sourced from Georgia farms and it is produced there too!
I’d love to hear what you think of this design. Tell me in the comments below.
