My husband is an artist of colour! He can create the most amazing colour creations both on hair, and on canvas! To fight the boredom of the 2020 stay home orders and to keep his creative edge, he turned to painting. Every year Pendleton Woolen Mills puts together a packet to send to all of their retailers of their new collections, including styles from their licensees. My client, Carolina Pet Company, is the exclusive licensee for the Pendleton Woolen Mill's Pendleton Pet Collection. Popular, iconic patterns from the Pendleton Collection have been translated and applied to a wide range of pet products that are also the perfect accessories for the home. I was commissioned to put together just a quick little insert for the packet in a postcard format showing off the Carolina Pet Company’s Pendleton Pet Collection.

I came up with a few different ideas…

Designing for a licensed collection, can be a little tricky as you have to stay in line with a brand’s identity and aesthetic. I have had the pleasure of working with Carolina Pet Company for a number of years, so I was familiar with the parameters of the brand. The Project: create a hang tag for a new collection of collars and leashes that are lightweight and durable, perfect for pets on the go, while maintaining Pendleton Woolen Mill’s sustainability message. This project was special to me. It is a graphic I created for my son’s baseball team. This was a great group of kids and a great travel baseball program.
