PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY: Howard Elliott

Product photography is vital for any business in today’s digital world. You need to show every feature and aspect of a product so that someone shopping from home can make an informed decision to purchase just as if they were physically in the store!

I have the pleasure of taking product photography for The Howard Elliott Collection, a home decor company creating innovative designs that truly finish a room. From mirrors to furniture, accent pieces to decorative pillows, each item needs to be expertly photographed to show every exquisite detail of the piece.

But the work doesn’t stop there! Once the items are photographed, I go through all of the image files to select the best ones that will move on to the editing stage. This can be upwards of 1500 image files from one day of photography!

These selected files are then straightened, background removed, color corrected, details enhanced and a reflection dropped in (if applicable).

Sometimes lifestyle photography is needed. In these cases, I can create a lifestyle image by placing the product into a stock photography room setting. Or in the examples below, I created a simple setting, then enhanced it using Photoshop to fill in details to create a more home-y look.

You can see more examples of the product photography I have created on the Howard Elliott website. While they do not sell to the public, you can find their products in your favorite home decor retailers across the country and online!

Now that you have seen what I created for this project, does it inspire you to do something similar for your product? Let's Talk and see what we can create together!

And because you read this far…here are some funny photos of me taking pictures of mirrors over the years…
